Description of Position:
As a member of a highly creative and dynamic web services team, you will be responsible for the development, enhancement, integration, maintenance, and/or support of application systems to meet strategic marketing needs of the university. You will perform systems analysis, design, construction, testing, documentation, and deployment of new university administrative applications or enhancements to/reengineering of existing administrative applications. You will exercise broadly defined discretion and independent judgment to advance information solutions affecting the entire university community. This is a permanent, full-time (12 month), administrative professional position within University Publishing at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington.
Required
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years professional
experience. Any combination of relevant education and
experience may be substituted for the educational
requirement on a year-for-year basis.
· Direct experience applying web
technologies to meet business requirements.
· Experience with current and emerging web
technologies, including web application research,
development, implementation, maintenance, and
support.
· Excellent written and oral communication
skills.
· Strong structured systems analysis,
design, and programming skills.
· Ability to work individually and as a
member/leader of a team.
· Ability to work well with members of the
user community.
Highly Desired
Qualifications
· A degree directly related to application
development (e.g., computer science, MIS).
· Working knowledge of web development
concepts and constructs including object-oriented
programming (OOP), service oriented architecture
protocol (SOAP), standard markup languages (e.g., HTML,
XML), stylesheets (e.g., CSS),
authentication/authorization services (e.g., Active
Directory), or web application languages (e.g.,ASP,
JavaScript).
· Proven experience with a .NET
programming environment including Visual Studio, Visual
SourceSafe, and/or ASP.NET.
· Proven experience working with SQL
Server and/or SQL stored procedures.
· Experience using business, data, and
process modeling principles and techniques.
· Experience in independently researching,
assessing, and implementing new technologies and
products.
· Experience in project leadership and
management.
· Experience using collaboration and
personal productivity tools.
· Experience in higher education,
government agency, or non-profit institution.
· $50,000+ depending on qualifications and
experience. Excellent benefit package.
